BEACON Case study

From €0 to ~€400 MRR: we ran Beacon’s playbook on our own SaaS.

Beacon is the productized version of the SEO + GEO method we use ourselves. To prove it, we ran the exact same playbook on our own product, Plagly — an AI-content detector that launched to €0 and zero traffic. Below are the real, measured results, straight from Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Stripe. No modeled numbers, no fabrication.

The starting point

Plagly.ai is our AI-content detector and plagiarism checker. Like most new SaaS, it launched into silence — €0 MRR and effectively no organic traffic. Instead of guessing, we treated it as our own test lab for the exact SEO + GEO methodology Beacon now automates, and we tracked everything.

What we did — the Beacon playbook

Nothing exotic. The same checklist Beacon runs for you, applied consistently:

  • Fixed crawlability and closed the render gap so Google and AI crawlers see real, server-rendered content — not an empty JavaScript shell.
  • Explicitly allowed AI crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended) in robots.txt.
  • Added structured data, comparison tables and FAQ blocks — the formats AI engines extract and quote.
  • Researched real buyer prompts and keywords, then built pages that answer them directly.
  • Tracked AI Share of Voice and search rankings over time, and iterated on what moved.

The search result

Organic search grew from a standing start to 11.5K clicks from 451K impressions in the last 90 days (2.6% CTR, average position 10.9). The shape of the curve is the story — near-zero in March, ~200+ clicks a day by June.

The AI-visibility result

This is the part most SEO tools ignore entirely. Plagly has been cited 51,000 times across Microsoft Copilot and partner AI answers, spanning roughly 20 pages. That is the GEO payoff — becoming the brand the AI itself recommends, not just a blue link.

The revenue result

Search plus AI visibility compounded into recurring revenue: Plagly grew from €0 to roughly €400 MRR, up 15.85% in the latest period — without a cent of paid acquisition.

What that traffic would cost to rent

Put it in advertiser terms: ~200+ clicks a day, 11.5K a quarter. Buying that through Google Ads — even at a conservative €0.50–1.00 per click for this niche — runs into the low thousands of euros per month, every month, and stops the instant you pause the campaign. The organic + AI visibility we built keeps compounding for free.
